Cookie Policy
This page lists every cookie this site can set, who sets it, what it is for and how long it lasts. Nothing in the analytics or marketing categories runs until you say yes.

Our approach: nothing runs until you choose
Most sites load their trackers first and show you a banner afterwards. We do the opposite. When you land here for the first time:
- Google Consent Mode v2 is initialised with every storage type denied before any tag exists on the page.
- Google Analytics, the Google Ads tag and the Meta Pixel are not downloaded at all. Not blocked after loading — never requested.
- The fonts and icons this site uses are served from our own domain, so rendering the page contacts no third party either.
The only thing stored before you decide is nothing at all. Once you make a choice, we save that choice — and only that choice — so we do not have to ask again on every page.
Rejecting everything is a fully supported outcome, not a dark-pattern dead end. The site works identically either way: same content, same speed, same contact form.
The three categories
Strictly necessary — always on
One entry, and it exists only to remember that you already answered this question. It is never used to identify or track you, and it cannot be switched off without breaking the consent mechanism itself.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Type & lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
lbb-consent | This site (first-party) | Stores which categories you accepted, so the banner does not reappear on every page | Local storage — 12 months |
Analytics — off until you accept
Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages get read, which ones lose people, and roughly where our visitors are. We look at it in aggregate; we are not interested in following one person around.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Type & lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics (first-party) | Distinguishes one browser from another so visitors can be counted | Cookie — 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics (first-party) | Keeps the session state for this specific Analytics property | Cookie — 2 years |
Marketing — off until you accept
We run ads on Meta and on Google. These tags tell us which ads actually produced an enquiry, and they allow those platforms to show you our ads again. This is the category to reject if you would rather not be followed between sites.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Type & lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au | Google Ads (first-party) | Links a click on one of our ads to what you did on this site, so a conversion can be attributed | Cookie — 90 days |
_fbp | Meta (first-party) | Identifies the browser so Meta can measure and target our ads | Cookie — 90 days |
_fbc | Meta (first-party) | Stores the click identifier of the Meta ad that brought you here | Cookie — 90 days |
IDE | Google, from doubleclick.net (third-party) | Ad measurement and frequency capping across sites | Cookie — up to 13 months |
test_cookie | Google, from doubleclick.net (third-party) | Checks whether your browser accepts cookies at all | Cookie — 15 minutes |
fr | Meta, from facebook.com (third-party) | Ad delivery and measurement on Meta platforms | Cookie — 90 days |
Third-party cookies are set by Google and Meta on their own domains when their scripts run. We do not control their names, contents or lifetimes, and those companies may change them; the lifetimes above are what they publish today.
A note on Google Consent Mode v2
If you accept analytics but reject marketing, Google’s tag still loads — but it loads with ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization set to denied. In that state it sends cookieless, aggregated signals only: no advertising identifier is written to your browser and nothing is used to target you. This is Google’s own documented mechanism for honouring a partial choice, and we mention it so the behaviour is not a surprise.
If you reject both categories, no Google or Meta script is loaded at all.
Changing your mind
Your choice is not permanent and does not require an email to us.
- On this site: open — also linked in the footer of every page — and set each category as you like. Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately and stops the corresponding tags from firing again.
- In your browser: you can block or delete cookies for any site. See Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge. Blocking all cookies also clears the record of your choice, so the banner will appear again.
- At the source: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, Meta Ad Preferences, Google My Ad Center, or optout.aboutads.info for many advertisers at once.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers have never agreed on what a Do Not Track header should mean, so this site does not act on it. It does respect Global Privacy Control: if your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a rejection of the marketing category and those tags are not loaded, whatever the banner says.
Changes to this policy
Every time we add or remove a tool that stores something in your browser, we update the tables above in the same change. The date at the top of this page tells you when that last happened.
